Wall Decals for Renters: How to Decorate Without Damaging Your Walls
Share
Renting does not mean living with blank walls. Removable wall decals are an easy, affordable way to add personality to a rental without painting or putting holes in the wall. Our decals are designed with renters in mind, and here is how to get the best results.
Why decals suit rentals
Our quote decals are made from premium removable vinyl with a matte finish, so they look like lettering painted straight onto the wall. When you are ready for a change, or it is time to move out, they are designed to come off without permanent changes to the wall.
Test first if you are unsure
Every wall and paint finish is different. If you are not sure how your paint will react, test a small, hidden spot first. Decals work best on smooth, clean, properly prepared painted walls. Textured, freshly painted, flaking or chalky surfaces may not be suitable.
Prepare the wall
- Wipe the wall with a damp cloth to remove dust, then let it dry.
- If the wall was painted recently, wait at least 8 weeks for the paint to cure before applying a decal.
How to remove a decal
- Start at one corner and slowly peel the decal away from the wall.
- If it is stubborn, warm the vinyl gently with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive.
- Do not pull hard, as this can damage the surface underneath.
Paint quality, age and previous layers of paint all affect removal, so we cannot guarantee a wall will never be marked. Taking your time and testing first gives you the best chance of a clean result.
